Protect Public Education Day of Action – Thursday, February 17, 2026
Hello! Tomorrow, IDRA’s coalition, the Georgia Coalition for Education Justice, along with Fund Georgia’s Future are hosting an advocacy day to come together to protect public education.
From 8:30 am – 1:00 pm, at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, you will have the opportunity to receive advocacy guidance, connect with fellow public education supporters and meet with legislators on bills that matter to you.
As Georgia continues to face underfunding across their public schools and federal funding cuts threaten students’ lives, it is very important for the state to fully fund our public schools and support all students. Students’ futures should not depend on their race or ethnicity, family income or neighborhood.

Protect Public Education Day of Action Focus
While you’re attending our advocacy day, we will call on lawmakers to:
- Reverse decades of divestment and underfunding in Georgia Public Schools
- Oppose all efforts to divert public funding to private education institutions
- Expand the Quality Basic Education formula to include funds for educating students living in poverty
